Book Review
This book has 96 jam-packed pages of information on drying flowers
and arrangements to create using dried flowers. The author
opens the book with a comprehensive look at the methods and means
of drying flowers including Harvesting Plant Materials and Air-Drying
Plant Materials for the purposes of the arrangement(s) you would
like to create. This is followed by Drying in Desiccants, Microwave-Drying,
Preserving in Glycerin, Adding Tints and Containers and Equipment
before instructions for any arrangements are given.
Illustrations of the process of drying flowers in various ways are
depicted as well as the way the flowers should look after they are
dried. Several extra examples of dried flower arrangements
are also displayed. There is a handy 2-page chart that consists
of an alphabetical list of plants and how to preserve them which
is followed by the instructions for the dried flower arrangements
contained in this book. Dried flower arrangements are shown
in potential settings so you can see how they might look in your
home.
I really like it that the author has included illustrations of some
of the steps in the making of the dried flower arrangements in her
book. This is very helpful to the beginner who is attempting
these types of arrangements for the first time. The arrangements
are varied in style and very beautiful to look at. I could
definitely see myself making some of them for my home. |
